ANNUAL HEART and EYE CLINIC

 

 

The BACKCSC is holding its annual heart and eye clinic on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care, 2000 Bishop Drive, San Ramon, CA, 94583. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity as annual heart and eye testing is very important in our breed and part of our recommended breeding protocol.

 

Dr. Anna Paling, a board certified cardiologist, will be conducting heart exams by auscultation. The charge for each heart examination will be $30.00 per dog for BACKCSC members and $35.00 per dog for non-members. 

 

Dr. Dennis Hacker, a board certified ophthalmologist, will be performing the CERF (eye) exams. The charge for each eye examination will be $30.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members.

 

If you want your results reported to OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of America) and/or CERF, please bring a copy of your AKC registration for your dog(s).

 

Heart examinations will begin at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm. Eye exams will be performed ONLY between 11:00 am and end at 2:00 pm. All appointments will last approximately 5 minutes per dog for each exam. Please plan on arriving 20 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to complete the forms and for dilation of the eyes.

We will try to accommodate drop-ins as time allows, but member appointments will take preference. This is a clinic only; there is no meeting scheduled. (Next meeting is 2/28/10.)  Please make your checks out to BACKCSC or have cash in exact amount, please.  You may pay when you arrive at the clinic.

Directions from Walnut Creek, Alamo, Diablo & Danville:

 

Take I-680S to Crow Canyon Road exit. Exit right and go west on Crow Canyon Road to the 1^st traffic light, which is San Ramon Valley Blvd. Go left at San Ramon Valley Blvd. to the 2^nd traffic light, which is Norris Canyon Road. Go left on Norris Canyon Road to the 1^st traffic light, which is Bishop Drive. Go right on Bishop Drive. The entrance is on the right in 0.1 miles.

 

Directions from Fremont, Sunol, Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin:

 

Take I-680N to Bollinger Canyon Road exit. Exit right and go east on Bollinger Canyon Road to the 1^st traffic light, which is Sunset Drive. Go left at Sunset Drive to the 2^nd traffic light, which is Bishop Drive. Go left on Bishop Drive. The entrance is on the left in 0.9 miles.
